Global agribusiness Nidera has introduced a buy-back contract for the Group 3 wheat variety Torch for the UK market and export to Spain.

British uks Group 3 wheats such as Torch, which is the fourth largest yielding variety on the Recommended List, had seen a strong demand from millers both locally and on the continent, said RAGT managing director Simon Howell.

Nidera is looking for a specification of 74kg/hl, 10.7% protein and a Hagberg falling number of 225, along with a standard 15% moisture content and 2% ad mixture.

“Our strong relationships with European customers plus excellent distribution channels means we have been successful in matching UK farmers’ crops with the needs of overseas buyers.
